The Orchard View Head Start Preschool is a federally funded FREE program for children who are 3 and 4 years old on or before September 1, 2017.
Morning or afternoon 3.5 hour sessions and all day sessions are available Monday through Friday to families who qualify based on income and special needs.
Head Start provides individualized learning, health services, free transportation, meals and snacks, as well as social services. Activities are centered around stories, art, music, math, science, and play. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend class and participate in family activities. Family involvement is a big part of your child’s participation in Head Start.

To get started, fill out the application below. Once filled out please contact the Head Start Office at 231-760-1787 to set up an appointment. Please bring in the following items to the appointment: Child’s Birth Certificate, Child’s Immunization Record, Child’s Insurance Card, Health Appraisal Form (Available in the Head Start and Great Start Readiness Office) and proof of residency (current utility bill including name and address).
