Early Head Start is a federally funded FREE program to families who qualify based on income and special needs. Early Head Start provides year round services to pregnant women and families of infants and toddlers in the home. The program is through the MAISD and housed at Orchard View in the Community Education building located at 1765 Ada Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
This program is designed to serve low-income families, teenage mothers, children with disabilities, families with young children who are enrolled in workforce development programs or school and pregnant mothers.
Specific issues include accessing pre- and post-natal care, early literacy, health, nutrition, positive parent-child activities, social services, and parent education. Monthly socialization meetings are held with other families with young children.
