  • Four days a week with full-day and half-day options available
  • Meals and snacks provided, health services, parent involvement & services for children with special needs
  • Transportation may be provided

* All children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before December 1st of the current year

  • Four-day a week school day programs are available

  • Parent transportation may be provided

*All children must be age 4 by December 1st of the current school year. (Priority is given to children with birthdays on or before September 1st)

What you need to get started:

Birth Certificate

You must provide your child’s certified birth certificate. Certificates may be obtained from the county building (the county in which your child was born).

Immunization Records

Official MCIR (Michigan Care Improvement Registry) from physician's office. Immunizations are available at the Muskegon County Health Department, 209 E. Apple Ave.

Proof of Eligibility

Proof of the last 12 months of income or last year's income tax return or W-2 form.

→ SNAP (Bridge Card)

Health Forms

A health form will be provided at the application appointment and is available at your doctor’s office. A physical examination is required.

Proof of Residency

Copy of the most recent utility bill including name and address.

Dental Form

A dental form is provided at the application appointment for Head Start only.

  • A preschool application must be picked up and completed to determine eligibility
